Jessica and Jason Travelstead are once again hosting their renowned Texas Hold ’em party to benefit OWL. Spice up your March with this poker tournament, played for the ultimate prize—bragging rights with your friends. Come for Jessica’s award-winning chili, margaritas and cocktails at 6:00 and stay for a night of hootin’ and hollerin’ around the poker table at 7 sharp. Who’s in?

 

An Authentic English Tea at Penny Farthing

Stop faffing around and put on your new spring hat; we’re having a do at Penny Farthing Tea Room!  Everything will be tickety boo as you sit down to proper English scones, clotted cream and jam, tea sandwiches, petite desserts, tea (of course), English lemonade and a glass of Prosecco to perk things up nicely. A Host of Golden Daffodils

What says spring better than daffodils? A million at a glance! Tour the breathtaking 15 acres of flowers, then join Joanie and John Morosani for an al fresco picnic lunch at their mid-century modern house, designed by renowned architect Edward Durrell Stone. Laurel Ridge daffodils have been a destination since the 1940s when John’s parents, Virginia and Remy Morosani, planted the first 10,000 bulbs. A fabulous introduction to Spring!

 

The OWL Open Mini Golf Party

A private 9 Hole Mini Golf Course, professionally designed and situated on Frank and Andrew’s spectacularly beautiful estate. Come and show off your putting skills in your country club attire amongst friends and neighbors. Enjoy a “Slice” from a Gourmet Pizza truck while quenching your thirst with beer and wine. Tee times reserved for the first 60 Qualifiers. A Starter at the first tee will assign Pairings. Prizes awarded! Join us course side for OWL’s first of a kind Golf Tournament. Tango in the Gardens

Take a dazzling trip back in time at this very special event. The setting is 1940s Buenos Aires and the dance is the passionate, sensual Tango! Live period music and light Argentine refreshments will accompany authentic dancing by the Hartford Argentine Tango Society at Hugh Schoelzel’s Litchfield home. The dance floor will stretch from the garden onto the lawn and guests will be encouraged to take a turn at the seductive dance. Get dressed for the period and trip the light fantastic! This is truly a unique and exciting experience. ¡Excepcional!

Blue Grass and BBQ II

Back from the Podunk Blue Grass Festival and in an encore performance at Selby’s—“Too Blue” will entertain you with toe tapping, banjo picking, fancy fiddling, authentic Blue Grass. This Concert/Feast will be enjoyed on the patio and hillside of the Selby’s home featuring distant panoramas of the Litchfield Hills. As Mountain Music fills the air, you will feast on delicious BBQ chicken and melt in your mouth BBQ ribs with all the fixin’s that go into a down-home cookout. Grab a local beer or wine and just sit back to enjoy a summer evening and sunset with friends old and new!
