A delightful Italian themed, multi-course dinner will be personally prepared by our chef, Father Don, and enjoyed in the gracious dining room of this hilltop retreat house. Once a private home surrounded by 33 acres with a commanding view, Montfort House is the perfect setting for a wintry fireside feast.
Expect a traditional Italian dinner; a pasta course followed by a savory main dish and dessert. Fabulous Italian wines will be served through out. The fire lit setting will be enchanting, and the Italian specialties and wine promise an evening of pure enjoyment.
You’ll definitely want to capture a seat at this table!

Celebrate the historic connection between Connecticut and the Caribbean! In the process, warm up those winter blues with some rum punch and other libations, island-inspired hors d’oeuvres, and the musical sounds of the Carib, as varied as the islands themselves!
Hosted at the historic home of Benjamin Tallmadge, just entering you can sense the spirits of this stately home. Both visitors to this home, Alexander Hamilton was born on the Island of Nevis, and General Washington never traveled beyond the Caribbean Islands.
This would have been the perfect party for Tallmadge to throw for his island-hopping guests! So, plan to “kick up a rumpus” and celebrate as they did at this festively themed gathering!

Do you have a passion for beautiful gardens? Have you traveled to see some of the loveliest? Well, this will be a revelation to you!
Nestled in the privacy of our own South Street is an exceptional garden featuring a seasonal rotation of cultivated beauty. Fountains spout and shimmer, peaceful ponds are alive with nature’s chorus, and three acres of cultivated gardens- blossoming, flowering and breathtaking- abound in this botanical treasure. You will be visiting during the height of the tulip season, the garden ablaze with every color and variety you can imagine later to be replaced by dahlias and more as the seasons progress!
After a leisurely tour of the grounds, come together to enjoy savory appetizers and sweet treats prepared by cake and cookie artist, Bette Wu. With libation in hand, you are free to mingle with the other guests, or speak of growing matters with our accomplished garden owner.
*Added Plus: The owners have a golf cart they can make available for handicapped access if needed to this magical spot!

No demands, just pure relaxation with this wonderfully appealing event. Gift yourself a day by the water. Picture floating in your kayak, swimming, paddle boarding or fishing on lovely Long Meadow Pond in Bethlehem.
Smell the enticing aroma of kebabs (chicken, swordfish, or beef) roasting beach side as you do nothing! Cool drinks, corn on the cob and strawberry shortcake, an entire season wrapped in a day. This is what summer is supposed to feel like.
All equipment is provided by hosts, but feel free to bring your own if preferred. This is your day!

This has to be the perfect way to celebrate a mother in your life! A touch of whimsy, entertainment, great drinks and dinner around the table!
For shared fun, plan to bring a sample of a best-loved appetizer or dessert your mom used to make — or at least be willing to give up the ‘secret recipe’! All of these personal favorites will be compiled into a cookbook for the guests, so that everyone has an opportunity to prepare them for their own families!
Beyond this, enjoy the performance of an original work by our local playwright and actress, Nancy Schuler and her husband Ed. In addition, Humphry Rolleston will read from a collection of his father’s letters to his grandmother during WWII filled with gossip and tremendous intimacy.
Did we forget to mention that all of this takes place at the charming Litchfield Country Club?! A full bar will be available for your choice of cocktails or wine, and a beautifully presented buffet dinner will be prepared by Chef Rob Augdahl for your culinary pleasure. Bring mom along or just enjoy reminiscing with friends about our multi-faceted matriarchs!
